August was the month our internal tools left individual computers and moved to the web. Banners, Images and Marketing Pieces now run in the browser behind one team sign-in, and the people who use them every day started shaping them with their feedback. At the same time the team delivered 881 tasks, 47% more than in a quieter July, in the middle of Back to School and Especial Casa.
Used the new Banners app for a full day of real work and found four issues that no test had caught. Her requests for a keep-background option and a new shadow became features, and she closed 228 tasks in August.
Tested the web version of Peças MKT on its first day and reported three issues that were fixed the same afternoon. His note that designers work with the tool in half a screen changed how the layouts are built.
Closed 125 tasks in August, almost three times the July volume, helping the team absorb the busiest campaign weeks of the summer.
A first day of real work finds what weeks of testing miss.
Two extensions doing almost the same thing drifted apart. One shared version is easier to trust.
Designers work with the tool next to their files, so layouts must work in narrow windows.
A simple usage counter answers questions we used to guess.
Present the platform to Acquisition and move their marketing piece requests into the app.
Replace stock imagery and paid background removal with tools built and hosted by the team.
Open the tools to colleagues outside Web Design, with the right permissions for each team.
